Portainer

Inhalt

Container management UI via Portainer API + API key. Multi-instance (e.g. CORE + NODE separately).

What the integration can do

  • Container listing with status (running, stopped, paused)
  • Stack overview
  • Click on container → jumps to Portainer
  • Aggregate counts in the stats row (e.g. "20 / 35 containers")

Prerequisites

  • Portainer CE or BE 2.19+
  • API token: Portainer → User → "API Tokens" → "Add access token"
  • Endpoint ID (default 1, that is the local Docker endpoint)

Setup in Mesh

Admin → Integrations → Portainer → "Add":

  • label — e.g. "Portainer Core"
  • baseUrl — e.g. http://192.168.1.10:9000
  • apiKey — from Portainer user profile
  • endpointId — default 1; if you have multiple endpoints in Portainer, use their ID
  • verifyTls — false for self-signed

Repeat for additional Portainer instances.

Using the widget

Admin → Content → Widgets → "Portainer". Settings:

  • integrationIds[] — one or more
  • Containers are then shown with a server tag

Troubleshooting

  • "401 Unauthorized" → API key expired or deleted. Check in Portainer user profile
  • Endpoint mismatch → in Portainer you have e.g. endpoint 1 = local, 2 = remote. If 1 does not respond → set endpointId to 2
  • Container limits → Portainer API returns max. 1000 containers per request. For very large setups: set a filter in the widget
