Zigbee2MQTT
Inhalt
Three modes for the Z2M integration — choose the one that fits your setup.
What the integration can do
- Device list (online/offline) with battery level
- Bridge status (Z2M daemon online/offline + version)
- Last seen per device
- Optional: trigger buttons (polished in v1.7+)
Modes
| Mode | Prerequisite | When to use |
|---|---|---|
auto |
Home Assistant + Z2M connected to HA via MQTT discovery | Recommended since v1.4.6 |
ha |
HA + manual group group.zigbee2mqtt with all devices |
Legacy / before v1.4.6 |
mqtt |
Direct MQTT broker access | v1.7+ — no HA as intermediary |
Setup auto (default since v1.4.6)
Admin → Integrations → Zigbee2MQTT:
enabled: truesource: auto- (Home Assistant must be correctly connected — see Home Assistant)
The discovery enumerates all devices with zigbee2mqtt in device_attr(<id>, 'identifiers') via the HA template API.
Setup ha (legacy)
source: hahaGroupEntity— e.g.group.zigbee2mqtt
In HA you would need to manually maintain the group with all Z2M devices as members. If haGroupEntity is empty, Mesh automatically falls back to auto.
Setup mqtt (v1.7+)
Not available in v1.5.x. Current roadmap:
mqttBroker,mqttUsername,mqttPassword,mqttTopicPrefix- Mesh subscribes directly to
<prefix>/#
Bridge status
Separately from two HA entities:
binary_sensor.zigbee2mqtt_bridge_connection_state(online/offline)sensor.zigbee2mqtt_bridge_version(version)
If these entities do not exist: bridge status is "unknown".
Using the widget
Admin → Content → Widgets → "Zigbee2MQTT".
Troubleshooting
- Auto mode shows 0 devices → check HA connection, then in HA
Developer Tools → Templates:{% for state in states %}{% if 'zigbee2mqtt' in (device_attr(state.entity_id, 'identifiers') or '')|string %}{{ state.entity_id }}, {% endif %}{% endfor %}should return devices - Bridge status missing → Z2M plugin installed in HA? Otherwise: create Z2M bridge sensors manually in HA as MQTT sensors
